Notes
In Alice A. Bailey’s Esoteric Psychology, Vol.I the Master DK defines a Ray as follows: “A ray is but a name for a particular force or type of energy, with the emphasis upon the quality which that force exhibits and not upon the form aspect which it creates. This is a true definition of a ray.” (p.316) “Rays thus qualify all creation, including the human constitution. Soul, personality, mental body, emotional body, physical body, all are coloured by one or other of the seven rays,” according to Benjamin Creme.
Over the years Benjamin Creme’s Master has provided information on the ray structure and point of evolution of more or less well-known historical figures (for reasons of privacy never of living individuals), to facilitate the study and comprehension of the rays. These were then published in the ‘Questions and Answers’ section of Share International magazine. The most recent compilation was published in Benjamin Creme, Maitreya’s Mission, Vol.III.
“The best way to study the antahkarana [the ‘rainbow’ bridge between personality and soul] is to read the Alice Bailey teachings, in particular the book Education in the New Age, and further references in The Rays and the Initiations.” (Benjamin Creme, Maitreya’s Mission, Vol.III, p.431.)
This is the fifth and final volume of A Treatise on the Seven Rays. The other volumes are:
- Esoteric Psychology, Vol.I
- Esoteric Psychology, Vol.II
- Esoteric Astrology, and
- Esoteric Healing.
