Notes
The second installment of the Crop Circle Year Books has a foreword by John Mitchell in which he recounts the modern history of the crop circle phenomenon, referencing the “Doug & Dave” episode and reminiscing the “popular interest” excited by Colin Andrews and Pat Delgado’s Circular Evidence with its “beautiful coloured illustrations of circle patterns”, followed by “the sensational events of 1990 when, together with circles, appeared other angled shapes, strung out in long ‘pictogram’ formations.”
While the first issue was basically a picture book, in this edition Steve Alexander’s partner Karen Douglas wrote a background article about “The Intelligence of Harmony” (p.2-3). In their end notes the authors emphasise that their compilation is a subjective one, selected from the ones they were able to record, adding “The crop circles are in fact a global phenomenon and formations have appeared in over 50 different countries.” (Inside back cover).
A review with a selection of photographs from this edition was published in Share International No.1, January/February 2001.
